What is Yin Yoga?Yin Yoga is a slow-paced style of yoga with postures that are held for longer periods, typically ranging from 3 to 5 minutes or more. It targets the connective tissues, such as the ligaments, bones, and even the joints of the body, which are not often exercised in more active styles of yoga.

What to wear to a Yoga class?Wear comfortable and breathable clothing that allows you to move freely. Opt for moisture-wicking fabrics to keep you dry during your practice. Additionally, consider wearing layers that you can easily remove or add as needed.

What do I bring to Yoga class?A yoga mat if you have one, (we do rent out mats if you don't have your own), a water bottle to stay hydrated, a towel if you are doing one of our Heated classes and an open mind ready to embrace the practice.

I'm not flexible, can I do Yoga?Absolutely! Yoga is for everyone, regardless of flexibility. It's about the journey of self-discovery and self-improvement, not about being the most flexible person in the room. Yoga can help improve flexibility over time, and there are modifications and variations for every pose to accommodate different levels of flexibility.

How long are the Yoga classes?Our yoga classes typically run for 60 minutes, unless specified. This provides ample time for a balanced practice that includes warm-up, asanas (poses), pranayama (breathing exercises), and integration / relaxation (savasana). Some specialized classes may vary in duration, so it's advisable to check the schedule for specific class lengths.

Is Yoga considered a religion?Yoga is not a religion but a spiritual practice that originated in ancient India. It encompasses physical, mental, and spiritual disciplines to achieve a state of peace and harmony.

Is it safe to do Yoga during pregnancy?Yoga can be safe and beneficial during pregnancy, but it's essential to consult with your healthcare provider and choose yoga classes led by instructors trained in prenatal yoga. We do not have specific prenatal classes but if you have a current yoga practice, we do have teachers who are trained in prenatal yoga and would be happy to have you in one of their classes.
